Gang Handbook
1.0 Establishing
Establishing a gang must be done through the gang application via ticket, first and foremost. After you have applied it will be reviewed by the Gang Staff and the person who lists themself as the OG will be contacted with a verdict. The OG, as well as at least 4 other members, must be in the server for at least 14 days before an application will be considered and reviewed. If you are applying as a gang please make your application exceptional and have a solid group with you. You must have a minimum of 5 members with you to apply. We do not want to continue accepting the same ideas but in another version when we believe they could fit into the gangs that are already pre existing. If your application is denied you must wait 30 days to reapply.
This is to ensure that new gangs coming in are here for RP and provide solid content and community within the city. During your 14 days before applying, we are looking to see you provide quality roleplay for the server, not stirring the pot with every gang in the server. Not providing quality roleplay during your 14 days will result in your gang application being denied.
1.1 Before Official
Before you have applied to be a gang and during the time you are waiting to hear back from gang staff, you are not a gang.
-You are not to be claiming turf, color, etc or acting as a gang.
-Wearing any flags/mask as a group identification
-You do not have the same ability to go over numbers on turf.
-You cannot set terms nor war with another group.
-Any hostility/aggression towards an individual for being in an area or trying to buy property in said area
You can be working on ābuilding somethingā but you are not a gang.
Failure to abide by this and starting beef with official gangs can be seen as gunplay > roleplay and can result in a permanent ban.
1.2 Probationary Period:
If approved, you enter a probationary period - During this time there are no inherent restrictions, but your gang will be looked at with closer eyes, and harsher punishment if rulebreaks do occur. The probationary period will go on for a minimum of 14 days but will go on as long as staff deems necessary.
During that trial period, staff will be watching for quality roleplay and no rule breaks. If issues arise, you may stay in your trial period, or staff may opt to disband the gang.
During this trial period, you can do all the normal activities of a gang, rep a color, have turf, go to war, etc.
1.3 Establishing - Requests
Once your Gang is accepted, recognized & established, you may not have all of the things you feel you need to operate properly, for example we might not have the right color of flag your set wants to rep.
To request items, clothing, RP routes/ideas etc. head to your respective #clothing-dev section in the gang discord, and write out what you are requesting and why. Typically it should be the OG or RH contacting us regarding clothing and flags to keep communication clean, other more personal avenues can be ticketed by the individual.
Please keep in mind, not all requests can/will be fulfilled if deemed not appropriate at the time or solid reasoning as to why the person wants something is not provided. Clothing is case by case and we ask for patience once a request is made to ensure all items perform well for the server and are appropriate for your gang's needs.
2.0 Roster
Each gang that has been whitelisted gives the names of their initial members upon application, as RP progresses and the gang expands, it is up to the OG and RH of each gang to keep their roster updated and accurate with names.
Each official gang will have their own section in the Gang Discord for the OG and RH to keep Gang Staff updated regarding strikes their members may have received at a glance, as they will be able to see these numbers to make informed decisions, as well as if they have questions to be able to ask easily.
You must be a part of the gang and on their roster for two weeks before you can be involved in any part of a gang violence. You are responsible for updating your roster in your channel to start the two weeks. Turf is an all encompassing term to describe the foothold of a gang, group or other collective where they typically live, or control an objective.
Things that do not count as turf nor be included in any turf borders/ownership;
All Player Owned Businesses
Pillbox Medical, Grandmas, VPD, MRPD, BCSO, Davis Station, Paleto Station, The Courthouse
Mirror Park and Vespucci Canal
No turf can be claimed in the city core itself.
Eg. Vagos cannot claim Pillbox Hill. ESB canāt claim Vinewood. GSF canāt claim Downtown.
Areas like Vespucci, Morningwood, East Los Santos, East Vinewood etc. on the outskirts of the city and beyond are acceptable, as long as there is solid reasoning behind choosing the location.
Lore gang turfs are reserved for lore gangs. If Grove street is open, it must be ESB that moves in.
If a gunfight breaks out at a business between members in an active war, for example someone owns a Los Santos Customs and they have 12 people in their building, and an opposing group of 4 are looking for members they are at war with, if the group of 4 choose to initiate into the building of 12, all 12 may return fire, however the fight once over should immediately move to appropriate locations outside of businesses.
You should not be actively going to work at your civilian job if in war time if you hold one, for several reasons, mainly being you would typically not want to endanger your business or clients by potentially bringing your war with you to your workplace.
6.1 Turf - Protecting Your Turf
In the event that a gang shootout is led onto a 3rd party gang's turf, the 3rd party may choose to interfere with the fighting. Only the 3rd party may initiate hostile action towards the other two parties. If the original two parties leave the turf, the 3rd party cannot continue to engage. Example: Ballas and Vagos are fighting and the shootout leads to Forum apartment roofs, GSF may interfere without warning to protect their turf.
If the 3rd party chooses to engage with the fight, they must act indifferent and engage both parties fighting. This is not a roundabout way to tie flags or get outside help.
6.2 Turf - Claims
Lore Gangs
These gangs typically have an outlined pre existing area that they own & claim. This turf can never be removed from the city and persists through different sets and leadership changes.
Original Gangs
Original gangs are non-lore and typically unique and new and donāt have a predefined turf location, this turf can be removed over time if events lead to such, for example war takeovers.
6.3 Turf- Objectives
Gangs can only hold 2 objectives at any given time, this is to ensure that everyone has the chance of holding down something of their own, without the worry of a āmonopolyā
Example - Vagos can hold down xanax and big pawn, but not meth as well. A spot you hold down/tax (chop, xanax, etc) cannot be turned down for war terms. You hold it down, hold it down. Or donāt.
6.4 Turf & Fights
These areas are controlled by that one particular gang, meaning that they have the ability to dictate who they see fit to be entering it during war time and may defend their own turf with as many members as they have available, not needing to adhere to the 5-man standard rule, unless specified otherwise in terms. If you initiate on a gang's turf, bait the fight, and leave the area, the gang can push everyone that was initiated on.
Example: If GSF pushes Grove Street, and retreat back to wherever, bait them off the block, and Ballas were initiated as a group, the entire group pushes off the block as well, and not an over 5 rule break.This doesnāt mean you can run to your block and use more then 5.
Your fight should not bleed too far out of either side's turf. Try not to have open warfare out the front of Pillbox. If it bleeds there, try your best to bring it back to where it should belong so it limits the possibilities for innocents to be caught up in the crossfire, and limiting outside interference.
7.0 - Expectations
The expectations in RP for everyone who reps a set in 2.0 is lifted drastically as well as moving control over what happens to your gang more in the hands of the OGs themselves.
RP overall needs to be solid. Gang members direct the flow of hostile RP on the server almost entirely, aside from a few rogue crazy civs. The reasons behind the actions you choose need to be solid. We do not want to see any more all out wars over someone accidentally bumping into another person's car for example
7.1 Expectations - Initiation
If you are actively in a war with someone and spinning each other often, and setting up the fights, we arenāt expecting any initiation unless stated otherwise in the agreed upon war terms.
If you are not currently at war, initiation must take place. This can take place in many forms such as, but not limited to the following;
Phone Call/Text (Must be stated that your group is planning to head down to the other gangās turf with an expected time frame given with confirmation from the other gang.)
Face to face conversation (Can be two+ members of a gang or a messenger sent that is a third party liaison)
7.2 Expectations - Recordings
Given that when it comes down to gangs initiating, fighting, warring etc. is when the most reports come in, tickets, etc. we require people to be recording these fights.
It is an expectation that going into any situation that could bleed into hostilities & fights, some form of recording software is running, be it Streamed via Twitch, YouTube & Facebook publicly, or privately recorded via OSB/SLOBS, Nvidia Shadowplay, Gyazo Replay, MetalTV etc.
This ensures that if a claim is made against you, you have video proof of your side to compare with theirs.
